Ever think about freezing – the moment you
first discover
yourself alone
on the side of a highway,
darkness curves & bends,
an alley-cat’s shadow.
The moon’s neon eye
fixes on its prey;
the wheels
stationed inches from the
dotted division.
Trucks pass
as a voice for the force
of wind hitting you in the dark:
“Don’t know me?”
In
every dark, man-made, polluted city where we have
given our souls to a lifetime of slavery to money,
you can find (if you’re lucky) a few treats
that remind you of what’s real and what really
matters in this life.
In
this drawing the tree represents the natural beauty
in the world that we are losing due to a serious lack
of value for nature. Nature of which we are part of,
that we depend on and cannot survive without. The tree
is golden because once you seek out the natural beauty
in the world, it is as if you have found a light that
leads you back to the truth; who you really are.
