We don’t tend to publish videos here on Creature but this great stop motion film using lots of lamps and lighting really caught our Eye. It’s a music video for the song “vienen de arriba” by the band “Lost Twin”, myspace.com/losttwinmusic signed to Throw Some Shapes: myspace.com/throwsomeshapes.
The video was made by Caroline Glover and Claire Medcalf (glovepuppet.net ) with Owen Pidcock and Tom Bolwell. There is a screening of the video in Brighton next month. Here is the link to the facebook event.
Claire says:
Caroline and I listened to the track and both thought the use of light would work well with it. We drafted in the expertise of Owen and Tom to help with the general logistics and the edit would never have happened without Tom!! We asked everyone we knew to lend us their lamps for the shoot and ended up filming it in the car park underneath Caroline’s flat after dark. It is all stop motion so many photos were taken that night.

It’s funny how electrical goods can be so emotional. I felt quite overwhelmed by it. One could almost say it is electric! Gross puns aside, the pulsing rhythm of this video makes it potent and yet strangely sensitive; evocative, lonely and tense. The track is fabulous too, a really great pairing.
