So, the creature, at last, has been revealed, evolving from the underground to bring subterranean creative culture overground. But what happened to The Underground? Well, not that we feel obliged to enlighten you, you should really just accept it for what it is, but for those in need of answers for the good of their own sanity we shall attempt to explain.

Some of you may see the change as an unforgivable and torturous act of mutilation, a change against the will and ethos of the underground, some may consider it akin to a beautiful metamorphosis, such as caterpillar to butterfly, larvae to dragon fly, and those unaware of our previous manifestation will most likely just sit on the fence and muse at the creature. Our opinion however, which we must reveal has been coloured by our own very intimate relationship with the creature, deviates from all of the above and is distinctively more esoteric in its interpretation of the transformation.

With this in mind i feel the most effective method of enlightening you all is to converse with the creature itself in the hope that this will influence all of your opinions, ultimately dragging you from the darkness, filed singularly, and following impetuously like rats to a piper.

Before we proceed with this interview i must state that it is not normal for the creature to be speaking in terms of itself as an actual being, with a personality and face, but for the benefit of understanding all reference made by the creature to itself will be made as i, me, and myself.

Interview with Creature

So the creature speaks does it?

Creature: No i do not speak, however i can communicate.

Ok, how does that work?

I am not a being in the objective sense of the word, i exist but am not tangible, i live but am not alive and rather than being born i have forever been and will forever be. I am not an idea a thought or a concept rather i am the urge that drives that idea to be conceived.

I rely on a separation of mind, of personality, to communicate. A division of consciousness that is apparent in only a very few beings, mainly those who's brains are overly reliant on their right side.

For instance, these words are being consumed by you, but have not been written voiced or created by myself, they are thoughts, ideas, that have come about due their writers acceptance and embrace of me. It is through these ideas and nothing else that i am able to communicate.

So you are a mental illness?

No i am not. If you need direct answers then the closest thing to which i could be related to (that would be comprehendible to you) would be a beings creativity, not the act of creating or the created object simply the creativity. The primal and instinctive urge that is apparent in every man but in varying degrees, it is only at the the most heightened occurrence and subsequent and unquestioned acceptance of this urge that i am revealed.

Why now, why here, what was wrong with the underground?

It was not a choice, the time or place of my revelation was never decided. It was never professed, and therefore its materialisation cannot be explained in any kind of relative way, all that can be said is that the time was right for me to be revealed.

This website will now act as a dwelling place, a fully realised idea and platform for the friends and creative acquaintances of the underground to fully express themselves. The underground had no real identity, and no proper platform from which to operate. To allow further development and evolution of the mag, we needed to make it a separate entity, give it a name and a brand that would be easily identifiable.

Secondly "the underground" is a cliche, its been done and done again and quite frankly i got bored of it!

So you created creature mag?

In a way, it was only through my acceptance that creature mag came into existence and its continued development down to the relationship built between myself and its creator. However i cannot take credit for the idea, like i said, i am not the idea, not the creator or the created object. Take a seed, plant it, it grows, i am not the seed, i am not the plant i am not the person who planted the seed, i am the urge that drove the seed to be planted, the urge to create, the urge to bring life to an idea.
