Freak of the week by Ollie Stone

Artist: Ollie Stone
Project: Freak of the week
Website: www.olliestone.co.uk
Another Monday, another week, another freak of the week… where does the time go? This week Ollie Stone introduces his Wrestling Bears.
The friendly fellow above, is one of a series of Bear Wrestlers that Ollie is working on. For the next few weeks we will have the pleasure of meeting a new Bear Wrestler every Monday morning!
Ollie says:
“Meet Donny Death, one of several bears to be gracing the pages of creaturemag with his band of fellow bear wrestlers.”
Creature says:
We look forward to seeing how this series develops. Creature wonders how this might work as a series of top trump cards. Bear wrestling top trumps certainly sounds like a winning idea! Check out more wrestling bears next Monday.
We hope you enjoy the show!
The Brothers McLeod
Artist: The Brothers McLeod
Project: Artist Spotlight
Website: www.brothersmcleod.co.uk
Earlier this week, Greg McLeod (from The Brothers McLeod) contacted Creature. He came bearing gifts in the form of some explosive banner artwork (above) to decorate the Creaturemag website. This is all very exciting to say the least. Please click here to see the full banner, which appears amongst a range of other banners at the top of the Creature blog.
For those not aware of their work, The Brothers McCleod are triple Bafta nominated animators, represented by Aardman animations as commercial directors and have directed campaigns for a number of exciting clients. They are well known for their short quirky animations that draw you in with distinctive illustrative styling and imaginative characters and story lines, a selection of their short films can be found here: brothersmcleod.co.uk/films.
Aside from their successes in the animation field the Brothers are extraordinarily talented illustrators too. Their eye for detail and intricate technique is perfectly showcased in a recent wall hanging project completed for McKechnies Independent Coffee shop in Stratford-upon-avon. The Brother’s have kindly allowed us to showcase a couple of these wall hangings here on Creaturemag. They really do blow our minds. Here we go:
